We design and manufacture optical precision elements and assemblies for a variety of markets including medical, semiconductor, security, automotive and construction. We specialize in the development and production of aspherical lenses, precision glass components, laser modules and opto-mechanical assemblies. Various technologies are used in this process, such as replication of optical structures, deposition, etching, lithographic patterning, CNC milling and other techniques. Our optomechanical modules and micro-optical assemblies are manufactured in our own cleanroom facilities at the new Brainport Industries Campus.
The job
As an Optical Architect at Anteryon, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing optical systems and components for various high-tech applications. You will play a key role within multidisciplinary project teams and collaborate closely with colleagues from different technical disciplines. At times, you will be supporting Sales and Project Management in acquisition phase of projects by supporting quotations with design proposals, costs estimation, and project plan.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Creating design concepts, optimizing optical designs,
- Performing tolerance analyses, stray-light analyses, and mold designs,
- Developing and analyzing optical solutions (both single components and systems),
- Interpreting and assessing measurement results and advising project management and senior management,
- Participating in projects involving new optical components or systems, taking responsibility for the optical design from first principles to a finalized design,
- Align with process engineers to ensure that opto-mechanical designs can be manufactured,
- Performing cost analyses,
- Scouting for new technologies and staying up-to-date with optical innovations.
We are looking for
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in physics with a strong focus on optics,
- At least 7 years of relevant experience,
- Experience with optical design software such as Zemax, Code V, LightTools, Breault ASAP, or similar tools,
- Strong knowledge of optical principles, including geometric optics, polarization, interference and diffraction, non-linear optics, Fourier optics, Gaussian beam propagation, etc,
- Proven experience in designing and engineering complex optical solutions that have resulted in commercial products,
- Experience in preparing and delivering technical reports, cost analyses, patents, and presentations,
- A good command of the Dutch and English languages.
