We design and manufacture optical precision elements and assemblies for a variety of markets including medical, semiconductor, security, automotive and construction. We specialize in the development and production of aspherical lenses, precision glass components, laser modules and opto-mechanical assemblies. Various technologies are used in this process, such as replication of optical structures, deposition, etching, lithographic patterning, CNC milling and other techniques. Our optomechanical modules and micro-optical assemblies are manufactured in our own cleanroom facilities at the new Brainport Industries Campus.
The job
As a Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and improving physical electronic components and systems. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will report directly to the CTO.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Design and test electronic circuits and hardware systems.
- Develop schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard tools.
- Troubleshoot, test, and validate hardware performance to ensure it meets industrial standards while staying updated with advancements in computer vision hardware.
- Integrate CMOS/CCD image sensors, FPGAs, and DSPs for real-time image processing in high-speed imaging applications.
- Work with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and embedded systems.
- Debug and optimize hardware performance for efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and certifications.
- Conduct simulations and prototyping prior to production.
We are looking for
- A bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Automation.
- At least 5 years of experience with both low-level and high-level control software, such as LabVIEW, Python, and PLC control.
- Proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, including PCB layout and signal integrity management.
- Experience with hardware debugging tools, such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Affinity for imaging, precision mechanics, optomechanics, and ultra-precision manufacturing.
- Knowledge of product improvement processes (reliability, cost reduction, manufacturability).
- A collaborative, innovative, and customer-focused mindset.
- Proficiency in both Dutch and English, verbal and written.
